David, a young man in Necco’s Independent Living program, shares three powerful tips for teens preparing for life on their own: 1. Put God First. “Everything you do, put God first,” David says. He encourages teens to attend church or youth group for community and strength. 2. Save Money. Plan ahead for rent, utilities, and groceries so you’re ready when you leave the program. 3. Ask for Advice. “Advice can help you,” David explains. He leans on mentors and his youth pastor for guidance instead of letting worries build up.
