How does Necco guide you to an adoption?

Experience is the key and we have a lot of it.

While reunification with the family of origin is always the primary goal of foster care, some family situations simply do not allow for this goal to be achieved. In fact, of nearly half a million foster children in the US, more than a quarter of them are eligible for adoption at any given time. That's why Necco's foster-to-adopt program is an excellent option for parents seeking to grow their families. In fact, our adoption specialists have facilitated 1,798 adoptions in the past 5 years alone!

The steps to adoption are similar to those required to become a foster parent. First connect with the Necco office nearest you and we will provide you with more information and get to know you! The second step is an orientation for further familiarize you with the process of adoption, followed by attending a series of training classes that offer education and support. The final steps include at least two home visits with a member of the Necco team, standard background and safety checks, as well as family interviews - our favorite part!

Once training is complete and your home study has been approved, you are ready to accept a child into your home. Next step...ADOPTION!

Adoptions through foster care are often funded by the state and in most cases, there are few or no fees. In fact, Federal or State programs offer assistance to remove the barriers that may prevent a family from adopting through foster care. This assistance can include medical assistance and monthly maintenance payments. In addition, tax benefits exist for adoption too, including both a tax credit for qualified adoption expenses, and an exclusion from income for employer-provided adoption assistance.

The qualified Necco team will be there every step of the way to answer financial questions and guide your family in ways to keep your budget in tact. Learn more at our FAQ page here.
